Boxing in Norway
Boxing is hands only, and technical precisely because of it. Footwork, distance and defence are the whole sport. Many clubs run fitness boxing with no sparring at all, for people who are only after the training.

What an ordinary class looks like
Skipping, shadow boxing in the mirror, bags, pads with a coach, and strength work at the end. Footwork and defence take the first months. Hitting hard is the easy bit. Sessions are serious conditioning even if you never step into a ring.
Fitness boxing without sparring
Most Norwegian boxing clubs run classes where nobody hits anybody. Say in your first session that you are not going to compete. You can then train technique and conditioning for years on those terms.

Questions about Boxing
Can I train boxing without being hit?
Yes. Most Norwegian boxing clubs run fitness classes with no sparring at all: technique, bags, pads and conditioning.
What age can you start boxing?
Children's classes start around nine or ten with no head contact, and adults start at any age. Competition has its own age classes and medical checks.
What does boxing cost?
Typically 400 to 700 kroner a month. Your own wraps and eventually gloves are the whole kit requirement, about 1,000 kroner together.
